Dave Hartwell @ Sebastian Fla.

"Damn good day of fishing today. Had three permit on and landed one 28 pounder. The guys kept it tight today and put 10 on the jetty while I was there. Crab migration= permit heaven."

Fisho's can finally hook up on Tarpon,Snook and many other big fish using Unfair Lures Paul's Dinkum Shrimp and Greenie like a live-bait... by rigging with a circle hook. Baits swim 100% because of molded on swivel..An Unfair Lures patent..
Pictured Shrimp made "Super Fast Sink" with split-shot and Greenie simply rigged like live-bait..

Here is the complete rig. The weight is the Improvisation. Using 40lb Fluoro...

To Go Deep remove treble and attach split-shot of your choice onto split-ring. There will be a new Super Fast Sink soon

Circle Hook through swivel...Unfair Lures will always track            correctly

Fishing Humor

From Capt. Charlie @ Fishing Center - Ft Pierce

The water clarity has been very good in spite of all the winds and rain.  June will provide anglers with some fantastic weather and excellent fishing action.
Trout have been in three to five feet of water for us this week.  DOA shrimp or live bait work great on the trout.  Don't forget to try the new DOA Airhead as either a top water or slow sinking bait on the flats.  Trout seem to love them!
Most of our redfish have been around the docks recently.  It's been harder to find a day to enjoy the docks with all the recent winds, but that has slowed down and this week should allow anglers to enjoy the west side of the river. Keep on the lookout for schools of redfish in June.  It's that time of year for them to gather up and move around the flats of the river.  There have been some good sized jacks and bluefish patrolling the docks lately and we have chased our share of them.   Snook season is over and fewer anglers will be targeting them around the area.  There is still good opportunities for catch and release throughout the summer around the jetties, bridges and docks of the river.

You can find plenty of snapper around the area right now.  Many keeper sized mangroves are just about everywhere in the river this time of year.   You will find plenty of anglers fishing the channel edges, docks and bridges this month for snapper.  Most will be using live or dead shrimp for the bait of choice.  Bridges will also hold some sheepshead for those anglers.  The surf will provide whiting, jacks and some bluefish.  June is a wonderful month to fish the Treasure Coast!

Sebastian Inlet Report

06-04-13 TUESDAY: SPANISH MACKEREL, REDS, JACKS AND A FEW PERMIT

We have overcast skies at the inlet this morning, but it's still beautiful. There is very little wind this morning, it's blowing out of the West at 1 mph and there is a small swell that a few surfers are taking advantage of on the north side. As always, use caution when casting into the surfing area when surfers are present. Be sure to take insect repellent with you if you head to the inlet today, no see 'ums are out in force!

Our angler of the day is Dennis Adams of Cincinnati, OH. Dennis and his dad, Dennis, Sr. were vacationing and decided to hit the north jetty. Using live shrimp, Dennis landed the Sheepshead and good sized Jack in our photo. Dennis reported that some Spanish Mackerel came over the rails, his dad landed a 46" C/R Snook and a big ol' Goliath Grouper about 150 - 175 lbs. was landed and released. There are some huge Goliaths lurking under the jetty, just waiting for an unsuspecting angler to catch its next meal!

Sebastian Inlet Report

06-03-13 MONDAY: REDS, MANGROVE SNAPPER, SPANISH MACKEREL, PERMIT AND JACKS

We have a gorgeous morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 3 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. We all know that no wind = so see 'ums, take insect repellent if you head to the inlet today. We have a small swell for the surfers and there are a few in the water taking advantage. As always, use caution when casting into the surfing area.

Over the weekend the action picked up, according to Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. Big Reds were hitting poppers, a few Spanish Mackerel, lots of Jacks, a few nice Permit have been landed off the tip of the north jetty and Mangrove Snapper are increasing in size and quantity.
Photo one is of Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach with an oversized Red he landed and released.
Photo two is of Mangrove Snapper on the north jetty grate.
Photo three is of a Spanish Mackerel.
