From White's Tackle - Ft Pierce
Inshore, word came from the south jetty about some good fishing for black margate and flounder. The bluefish are definitely still around and can be caught on spoons. In the surf anglers are still finding pompano and bluefish. Yesterday John Jackson showed me a picture of a pompano he caught in the surf that tipped the scales at around 6lbs. Trout and redfish are still being reported from back in the lagoon.

Sebastian Inlet Report
TGIF anglers! It's a foggy morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Northeast at 7 mph and the water is calm.
Something strange is going on today. There seems to have been a huge fish kill and there's a lot of bait fish in the waters of the Lagoon. Jetty anglers aren't seeing it yet, but when the tide switches to outgoing, don't be surprised to see a lot of dead fish flowing out of the Indian River. We're not sure what happened and FWCC has been notified to investigate the situation.
Fishing is slow again this morning as it has been the whole week. Mornings have brought in a few nice Black Drum, Sheepshead and keeper Reds, the Bluefish bite has been good this week, but overall it hasn't been real exciting. Night anglers have done ok with oversized Reds and catch and release Snook.

Inshore, the amount of bluefish along our beaches and in the inlet has been nothing short of phenomenal. One angler I spook with caught 43 of the toothy critters using a spoon off the south jetty. Spanish mackerel can be found along the beaches along with jacks. Reports of some good trout fishing around the power lines of the nuclear plant to our south and there are still some redfish north in the lagoon. Inshore or offshore this weekend weather permitting you should find plenty to keep you busy.

Sebastian Inlet Report
Anglers brought a lot of Blues over the rails on the outgoing tide yesterday; about 80 were landed on silver spoons, according to a source who was on the north jetty between 8:00 and 2:00. Also reported 4 Black Drum, 2 oversized Reds, a catch and release Snook and 2 Sheepshead. A angler was lucky enough to land 2 of the Black Drum, one of the Reds which was 28" which was released and the Snook.

Inshore has been tougher this week. We fished to the North toward Sebastian yesterday and only had a couple reds and a couple of trout. The South winds made it hard to find cover. We pinned down some big trout yesterday in the Fort so hopefully our Spring fishery will be early this year. The pompano fishing to the South is still good and I have seen a few this week to the North.

This morning Sheepshead are making an appearance along with some small Spanish Mackerel. The north beach has been seeing some keeper Redfish activity and a few Black Drum. If you are targeting Sheepshead, use crunchier baits like shrimp, sandfleas, small crabs or clams. Jigs tipped with those baits can get the job done as well.
