From White's Tackle - Ft Pierce

Inshore, snook fishing continued to be a little on the slow side over night. Windy weather and dirty water are all contributing to a slow down on the inshore scene. Look for improved surf fishing and jetty fishing again when it settles down. Bluefish have arrived in big numbers along with the mullet schools and snook and tarpon will lash out at the mullet at any time. Anglers reported some good fishing for redfish at the north county line before all this wind.

11-01-11 RE: FISHING IS GREAT!

Hang on to your fishing hats anglers, the wind really picked up yesterday afternoon. This morning winds are blowing out of the North-Northeast at 31 mph and the water is churned up. There is a small craft advisory in effect through late Wednesday evening; boaters should exercise caution.

We are seeing the typical fishing pattern for fall at the inlet, it's been going off! Snook, Reds, Black Drum, Snapper, Pompano, Blues, Spanish Mackerel, Flounder, Jacks, Ladyfish, Sharks and Sheepshead have been active at the inlet. We are still seeing a lot of mullet in the water and a lot of anglers are netting their own for bait. Some are using live or dead shrimp, cut bait, clams, small crabs and sand fleas if they can find them. Anglers that prefer artificials are using silver spoons, gotcha lures, topwater plugs, soft plastics or bucktails. You almost can't miss right now!
Black Drum dominated for a while with an occasional Red, a few Sheepshead were landed and Spanish Mackerel were popping glass minnows, and that was all before 11:00 a.m.! The photo above is of Diane with a 29" Black Drum, she also landed two at 23" which weren't too shabby either! Nice catches Diane!
There where slot Snook and reds landed on live shrimp.

November Fishing Forecast
Just as October proved to be a windy month, you can expect that November will also continue on that same windy note. We are in the middle of our winter transition and you can also count on cooler temperatures that will start the thermometer sliding when it comes to the water temps as well. The days will remain nice and warm, but the nights will become cooler this month. It’s time to change your fishing tactics out on the water.
Trout will continue to be a target of many anglers. The trout bite will be good on the flats, but you must move to the deeper areas as the temperatures cool the water down. Look for them to be in three to six feet of water this month. My favorite lures are DOA shrimp or Deadly Combos when trout fishing. Don’t forget to fish the sand holes on the flats. Many are much deeper than the flat and you can expect some nice fish to be hiding in them while waiting for that easy meal to drift by.
Harbor Branch is especially productive for me during this time of year as well as the Midway Road area. The pompano have already returned to the river and will be a favorite target for anglers. When fishing the surf, use sand fleas or clams and the same in the river. Don’t forget to try a Doc’s Goofy Jig for the pomps. Many are located when they skip behind the boat wake. Keep your eyes open for them.
The snook bite will continue to be good, especially at night. The inlet, jetties, bridges and docks around the river will be holding snook. Lighted docks are very popular when night fishing. Live baits, Bait Busters and Terror Eyz are very popular for snook fishing. Don’t forget the spillways when the water is running over them. They can be another very productive area for snook. Redfish can be found hanging under mangroves during the day and will strike a DOA shrimp or CAL jerk bait. You might also find some hanging under some of the docks around the river. A gold spoon can be another good lure in winter for hooking up on a redfish.
Docks and bridges will hold black drum, sheephead and the sand perch should also show up this month. Live or dead shrimp always works best on these fish. I love fishing docks this time of year. You just never know what might be lurking under one. I fish my lures from up tide of the dock, so that it will stay under the dock. You only have to twitch it and can fish it much longer that way. It’s always a challenge in getting a fish out from under one, but the excitement is well worth it.
You should still find some flounder around on the sand flats of the inlet and river. The mackerel, bluefish and jacks will fill up the inlet this month. Most shiny lures will work on these predators. You can also find them hanging in the channels up around Harbor Branch. It might be windy out there…..but the fish will be feeding!

From White's Tackle - Ft Pierce

Inshore, reports of flounder catches have been springing up from the lagoon and the south jetty. Cut or live shrimp have been the bait of choice for the flounder, but some of the door mat sized flounder will take a finger mullet. Snook fishing has been a little on the slow side, blame it on all the nasty water conditions. Forecasters are predicting better weather ahead so look for our normal fall fishing pattern to resume.

Sebastian Inlet Report

10-31-11 MONDAY: SPANISH MACKEREL, BLUES, POMPANO, JACKS, SNOOK, REDS, FLOUNDER AND BLACK DRUM

We have a wet, soggy morning at the inlet, but we still have some waterproof anglers out on the north jetty. Winds are blowing out of the East-Southeast at 8 mph this morning and the water is rough. If the fishermen aren't getting wet from the rain, waves are coming over the rails and soaking our hard core anglers that way! There is a small craft advisory in effect through late Tuesday night.

Over the weekend the conditions were less than desirable but those who were tough enough to take it, did pretty well. We had high winds and rain to deal with, but some nice fish came over the rails. Large Spanish Mackerel are coming in now and some have been in the five lb. range. Snook were thick; oversized and keepers. Reds weren't as active as they have been, but Black Drum have been prevalent as well as Blues. One angler landed a Blue that was 3' long over the weekend. Flounder are starting to show up and over the weekend an angler landed an 11 lb Cubera Snapper. Not only is the Cubera a beautiful fish, they taste as good as they look! Our weekend update was provided by Tommy of the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. Thanks Tommy!
The photo is of the "Orlando Crew". These guys from  had a great morning Friday with Snook; oversized that were returned to the water as well as slots. The Snook were landed on hand picked shrimp. Way to go guys!
