On the 19th of this month I will be doing a seminar on WADE FISHING at the West Marine in Palm Beach Gardens just south of PGA and US1 at 7:00 pm. Its a free event so come on down.....
Inshore fishing has been good with reports of Trout, Redfish, and Snook on the east bank by the power plant. There was also reports of large Sawfish near Jaycee Park, and one caught in Sebastian Inlet while shark fishing.
04-13-12 FRIDAY: LOTS OF BLUES This morning winds are blowing out of the East-Southeast at 15 mph and there is a chop on the water. There is a small craft advisory in effect through Saturday evening but will probably extend through the weekend. Always check the coastal forecast before venturing offshore. Fishing was on the slow side this week. Early in the week the weather was beautiful and we saw Spot Porgy's, a few Blues, a couple of over and undersized Snook, some big schools of Jacks and a lot of Ladyfish in the evenings. Things started improving when the wind picked up yesterday with a nice steady Bluefish bite and stragglers of various species here and there. We are hoping the change in the weather pattern will help invigorate the bite for all you weekend anglers out there! Our first angler is Sebastian Inlet State Park (SISP) Ranger Brian Cole with a real nice Flounder he landed after work. Brian was using mojarra to land his fish.
04-12-12 THURSDAY: BLUES, BLUES AND MORE BLUES! Winds have increased significantly over the past couple of hours this morning. At 9:30 a.m. winds are blowing out of the North-Northeast at 20 mph and there is a moderate chop on the water. Yesterday was another slow day at the inlet. Spot Porgy's were the main attraction off the north jetty again. One of the SISP volunteers reported that around 2:30 a school of very big Jacks came through and were tearing through a school of mullet so hard, the mullet were jumping up on the rocks to escape! That must have been a fun sight! Walton Ray of the Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop said this morning it's Blues, Blues and more Blues! Anglers are landing them whether they want them or not on just about every cast. That's a big improvement from the past few days!
Our photo features Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach with a couple of decent sized Whiting he landed off the north jetty.
