From Native Tackle - Sebastian
INSHORE
The trout bite has remained steady, fish the spoil islands and the docks use a D.O.A. curly tail or live shrimp. Redfish are hitting around the docks, mangroves and shore lines. The pompano bite has slowed down, but some anglers are having some luck still on the South side of the inlet inshore and down by the Wabasso bridge. The jacks and blues are thick and biting anything. Fish the docks forsnook and use live shrimp. In addition to the snook bite around the docks, anglers have had great luck with sheepshead and black drum.
INLET
Redfish, tarpon, snook, pompano, blues, jacks and shark. For better results fishing for the reds, fish on an outgoing tide and use live bait or jigs. Along with thereds, the tarpon and snook have been biting on an outgoing tide as well, use bucktails or live bait.
SURF
Pompano, whiting, shark, tarpon.
Sebastian Inlet Report
01-17-13 THURSDAY: WHITING, BLACK DRUM, BLUES, JACKS, POMPANO, SEA TROUT AND SHEEPSHEAD
It's another beautiful morning at the Sebastian Inlet. Winds are blowing out of the South-Southwest at 9 mph and the water is very calm, for now. The NOAA forecast has a small craft advisory posted for this afternoon through late Friday night. Apparently they are expecting the winds and waves to increase as the cool front moves in. Tonight temperatures are expected to drop into the 40's, but don't get excited, the cool front means we will be going to average temperatures here, highs in the 60's. Hopefully, that will be enough to get the fish invigorated; a change in weather pattern always seems to stirs things up a bit!
Yesterday, anglers were catching Whiting in the surf according to Tommy Turowski at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. Small Jacks, Blues, Black Drum, Sea Trout and Sheepshead are also in play. Yesterday we talked about Sheepshead and Blues. If you are targeting Black Drum, they are also crustacean lovers, as are Sheepshead. Cut squid will work as well. They are not known for lure-chasing, but will take one occasionally.
Our angler of the day is Jose Dore of Palm Bay. Jose landed this real nice Black Drum off the north jetty.

Keep It Cool
If You Catch Fish And are keeping a few, you got to keep it COOL even better COLD............
There are alot of very nice coolers and some just Ok and will do the job for know, but if Your like myself, out there fishing all day and some times through the night , you don't want to Keep buying ice to keep your catch cool and fresh. The best thing is to invest in a GOOD COOLER that is durable, spacious but fits your cart ,wagon etc. and most of all keeps whats on the inside cold, "oh ya the price". I have looked at a lot of coolers.....I love the Yeti and it's been on the Top of everyones list, the size choice is great from 35-420, No dought it keeps stuff cold inside, and as durable as they get. Then there's the PRICE !!!, a bit on the high end, but the real problem I have with the Yeti and alot of the SUPER COOLERS is No Room Inside.....The walls are SO thick I can't put my catch in it unless I went up, 1 or 2 sizes... then I can't get it in my rolling cart and the price goes up...
yetis thick walls
At ICAST I found a Cooler company that had all I was looking for
and out of Jupiter Fla.
Thinner walls
50 size fits small to Large carts
and a good price
