Sebastian Inlet Report

03-12-12 MONDAY: BLUES AND JACKS....SO FAR

We have a mix of sun and clouds over the inlet this morning with a pretty good breeze. Winds are blowing out of the East-Southeast at 16 mph and the water is choppy. There is a small craft advisory in effect for hazardous seas through this afternoon; boaters should exercise caution.

The Snook bite has been good. We also saw some nice Sheepshead, a smattering of Flounder, Sea Trout, Black Drum and Reds. Sunday was literally a wash-out, not many folks got out in the deluge to fish.

Our first photo was sent in by Anthony of St. Cloud. who landed this real nice 26" Black Drum off the north jetty.

Mike fished the north jetty Friday morning and reported the Snook bite was very good between 7:00 - 9:30 on the incoming tide. There were about 30 - 35 hook ups, 20 - 25 that actually came over the rails and 15 - 18 slot sized fish. Live shrimp remains the bait of choice.
Photo two features Carlo of Vero Beach with a 32" Snook. Photo three is of Russell of Kissimmee with a 29"
Our last photo is Bill of Dunellen with a fish on the line in the tide pool, flounder, and drum tend to get up in there.
