Sebastian Inlet Report

05-09-12 WEDNESDAY: SPANISH MACKEREL, BIG JACKS, SHEEPSHEAD, SPOTS, SNOOK AND REDS

We have another gorgeous morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 5 mph and the water is calm. There is a nice swell and we have a few surfers in the water taking advantage of the conditions; please use caution when casting off the north side of the north jetty.

We have a lot of baitfish in the water and schools of big Jacks have been chasing those through the inlet. We've seen some Sheepshead, Spot Porgy's, Snook and Spanish Mackerel during the day and Reds and Snook in the evening hours. This morning a nice Permit came over the rails according to Tommy Turowski and the Sebastian Inlet State Park Bait and Tackle Shop.

Our angler of the day is inlet regular Tony Swiderski of Sebastian with a real nice 3.5 lb Permit he landed off the north jetty using live shrimp.
