Sebastian Inlet Report

05-18-12 FRIDAY: TGIF!

This morning, winds are blowing out of the North at 6 mph and the water has a light ripple. We have sunny skies this morning and it's beautiful at the inlet.

We've had Pompano biting in the surf, north and south of the inlet. Clams, sand fleas, live shrimp, small crabs, cut squid are all good baits, but for those who prefer artificial baits, try using 1/2 oz - 3/4 oz jigs with short, nylon skirts. Heavier flies will also work, those with lead eyes or epoxy heads. The Sea Trout bite continues on the flats. Live shrimp, baitfish, mullet or pinfish are effective on this species as are swimming plugs, topwater plugs, streamers and poppers. This morning, there has been a Redfish bite along with the usual Spots, a few Spanish Mackerel and Snook cut-offs.
