Sebastian Inlet Report

04-05-16 TUESDAY: MOSTLY BLUES AND JACKS

We have a beautiful morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the Northwest at 7 mph, gusting to 12 and there is a moderate chop on the water. Winds will be increasing this evening and NOAA has issued a small craft advisory from this evening through Wednesday evening.

The bite was very slow off the jetties yesterday. Two Black Drum were landed in the early morning hours and one other came over the rails around noon. A couple of Pompano were landed but Jacks and Blues dominated the catches.

Our first photo today features Stephen Hoover of Orlando. Stephen fished the north jetty landed and returned two short Pompano using sand fleas on a three hook pompano rig and a 2 oz. pyramid sinker. Stephen then landed a 14.5" Pompano on live shrimp using a 2 hook Gulf rig with a 2 oz. pyramid sinker. He was fishing between the shore and first sand bar on the ocean side at high tide.
