Scouting Around Sebastian Area

SHEEPSHEAD, BLACK DRUM, REDS, SNOOK AND BLUES

It's another lovely day at the Sebastian Inlet. Winds are blowing out of the East at 3 mph, gusting to 5 and there is a light chop on the water. Winds are forecasted to increase a little this afternoon and we have a slight chance of showers. There are no NOAA advisories this morning.

Yesterday anglers had luck with slot and C/R Snook, oversized Reds, quite a few Sheepshead a few Black Drum, Mackerel, Jacks and Blues, according to Sarah Sams at the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop. The Snook were hitting medium sized shrimp. Use shrimp, clams or sand fleas if you can find them for the Sheepshead.
Our angler of the day is Carlos Taborda of Kissimmee. Carlos was using medium shrimp on a #1 circle hook with a 30 lb. leader on braided line to land this huge 52" C/R Red. Carlos also landed two others, all were over 48" and released right away.
