Sebastian Inlet Report

11-01-12 THURSDAY: JACKS, LADYFISH, BLUES, BLACK DRUM, REDS, SEA TROUT AND SNOOK

We have a gorgeous morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 7 mph and gusting to 10. There is a moderate chop on the water.

Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach fished the north jetty yesterday reported that the Jacks, Ladyfish and Blues continue to massacre the finger mullet around the north jetty. It was difficult getting any type of bait in the water without hooking up with one of them. The bait they found the least appetizing was stinky, dead shrimp but fortunately, the Black Drum loved them and Mike landed two at 17" and 26". Tony Swiderski of Sebastian landed two Black Drum at 22" and 28". Diane Buyce of Melbourne landed one nice Black Drum and lost a really big one. Several Reds were landed as well, but most were under the slot. for the  It's good to see the Black Drum moving in!

We received an update from Tom Turowski of the Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop who said he fished from the north beach last night after work and was catching smaller Spotted Sea Trout and another guy fishing close to him landed a couple of Pompano, until the Ladyfish moved in and took over!

Our first two photos today are courtesy of Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach. Mike is featured with the 26" Black Drum.

Photo two features Tony Swiderski of Sebastian with a 28" Black Drum he landed yesterday using dead, stinky, shrimp.

Our third photo features Ray Antonio who landed his 39" C/R Redfish a couple of weeks ago, off the north jetty using cut mullet. Ray reported that this big Red put up a great fight!
