Sebastian Inlet Report

01-02-13 WEDNESDAY: BLUES, SHEEPSHEAD, REDS, BLACK DRUM AND SEA TROUT

Happy New Year!

We have an unbelievably gorgeous morning at the inlet. Winds are blowing out of the West-Southwest at 3 mph and the water is calm.

Tommy Turowski of the Sebastian Inlet Bait and Tackle Shop reported big Reds and lots of smaller Blues landed over the long weekend. Large Sheepshead and Black Drum were landed, along with a few Flounder and quite a few Spotted Sea Trout.

We had quite a few anglers who got out and braved the weather over the colder days just before Christmas, not much will keep the dedicated angler at home when the fish are biting. Our first photo today features Kate Ferguson fished the north jetty on  and reported a lot of Bluefish biting.
Second Photo is Rodd Saylor was on the catwalk when he landed this nice Sheepshead.
Inlet regular Trevor Clarcq fished the inlet , when he landed a couple of small Flounder, around 10", which he returned to the water. He was fishing around the south jetty where he began picking up Blues with just about every cast. The highlight of the day was when he had a Blue on the line and it started jumping around because several dozen Bull Reds were after it and they stole it right off the hook!
