Sebastian Inlet Report

04-09-13 TUESDAY: SNOOK, SHEEPSHEAD, BLUES, JACKS, BLACK DRUM AND POMPANO

This morning winds are blowing out of the Southeast at 12 mph and gusting to 15. There is a moderate chop on the water.

We received an update from inlet regular Chuck Fischer of Satellite Beach who fished the north jetty yesterday morning. Chuck was there for the early morning Snook bite. There were 10 - 12 hook ups, about half were landed but all were oversized and returned to the water. A lot of Sheepshead, a few big Jacks and Blues, a Black Drum and a real nice Pompano that was landed by Dot Breining of Bradenton. Dot left for home today, so these catches were a nice way to wrap up the week.

Photo one features Dot Breining of Brandenton with a 18.5" Black Drum and a real nice Pompano. Both fish were landed on clams.
Our second photo features Mike Ricciardi of Vero Beach with an 11 lb. Jack he landed off the north jetty. Mike also landed some big Blues, now he can make his famous chowder!

The Hook Kids on Fishing program for youth 6 - 16 is still looking for registrants for April 20th. The clinic will teach casting, conservation, catch and release tactics, fishing safety, knot tying and more. The first 80 registrants will receive and FREE rod, reel and tackle box! The clinic is from 9:00 - 11:00 at Sebastian Riverside Park. Registration is a must; call the City of Sebastian Recreation Dept. at 772-228-7054.
