FROM CAPT. JOE WARD - FT PIERCE

The inshore fishing should be in full swing with plenty of trout taking top water baits at first light and again just before dark. The catch and release snook action should be as good as it gets in the Ft. Pierce Inlet for anglers using live baits. Look for redfish around the mangroves and along the shore line at Round Island and Queen's Cove. Try using a spoon or a piece of cut ladyfish. The snapper should be feeding along the channel edges and around the local bridges. Try using a live shrimp or a small white bait. The bite will be the best around the full moon. Look for tarpon around Big Mud Creek, in the Ft. Pierce Inlet and the Turning Basin. A live mullet will be hard to beat.
