From Todd / Eric @ Juno Bait -Juno Beach

INSHORE- Reports from the grassflats in Hobe Sound (Mile Marker 40-44) improved this week.  A few pompano, jacks, and ladyfish were caught by those throwing goofy jigs in 3-5' of water.  Scattered(very scattered) seatrout catches were made on live shrimp.  A few snook are hanging on the east side of the Intracoastal around the docks up that way as well.  No reports to really speak of from Munyan Island but the fishing should improve with each front.  Sheepshead and blackdrum have been biting at night around area bridges.  Fresh curt shrimp is hard to beat for catching the drum and sheepshead.  Snook season will be reopening here very soon.  Snook reports have been a little sparse, but those who have been fishing are having good luck using live shrimp and shrimp jigs.

SURF/PIER- Local surf fishing has remained a bit slow, but it did show some signs of improvement with last weeks mild front.  Croaker, and a few whiting, continue to bite well in the first trough.  Small pieces of shrimp and fishbites are both good bait choices for them.  Scattered spanish mackerel have been around the pier.  Crappie jigs Gotcha Lures, and the "bobber rig" w/ a clark or squid spoon are all good choices for the macs.  Schools of jacks are cruising the beach and make for good action, especially when targeted with light tackle.  Bluefish are around, but not in huge numbers.  Fishing cutbait at dawn and dusk seems to be the best bet for the blues right now.  A really nice permit was caught at the Juno Beach Pier last weekend, and the conditions are right for some more to show up. We have some nice blue crabs for sale, if your looking to soak a permit bait for a while.
