Sebastian Inlet Report

01-06-15 TUESDAY: BLUES, BONITO, SHEEPSHEAD, BLACK DRUM, REDS, C/R SNOOK, A FEW POMPANO AND FLOUNDER

We have a real pretty morning at the inlet. It's a completely different day than yesterday. We have plenty of sunshine and very little wind, which means the no see 'ums are back. Winds are blowing out of the North-Northeast this morning at 2 mph, gusting to 4 and the water is calm. The wind is predicted to pick up a little this afternoon. It looks like it's going to be a great day to get out and wet a line, be sure to take plenty of sunscreen and insect repellent.

We have the usual cast of characters making appearances at the inlet for this time of year. Sheepshead, Blues, Bonito are starting to show up, some nice Reds, a few C/R Snook, Pompano, small Flounder and Black Drum are providing some action to our inlet anglers. Today would be a good day to try your hand at surf fishing.

Our angler of the day is Matt Greenside of Melbourne. Matt fished the north jetty and landed this 23" Black Drum using shrimp, right after dark. Matt reported the outgoing tide produced Reds, slot Trout, Jacks and Blues, along with his Black Drum.
