Sebastian Inlet Report

01-14-15 WEDNESDAY: BLUEFISH, BLACK DRUM AND SHEEPSHEAD

It's cool, breezy, cloudy and foggy with a good chance of rain off and on today. Winds are blowing out of the North at 24 mph, gusting to 28 and there is a moderate chop on the water. Conditions are less than stellar this morning but we have a few folks out on the jetty; some are catching and others are just fishing.

We got an update from Tony Swiderski of Sebastian this morning who reported Bluefish were the prevalent bite. A couple of Sheepshead came over the rails and Jose Dore of Palm Bay landed a 31" Black Drum.

Our angler of the day is Jose De Pina of Poinciana. Jose was using fresh clams to land his Black Drum on Saturday. This beast was 38 inches and weighed 30 lbs! Jose got lots of exercise bringing this one up over the rails!

The Sebastian Inlet State Park will be hosting several workshops on "How to Surf Fish". The workshops will be from 1:00 - 3:00 p.m., meet at the Fishing Museum on the south side of the State Park. Take a pen and notepad for taking notes. Info on rod and reel selection, rigging, baits and more! The dates are all on Saturday's, January 17th, February 14th (take your sweetheart), March 14th and April 11th.
