From Henry@ Snook-Nook - Jensen Beach

How about this beautiful weather, cool evenings and warm days with plenty of sunshine, I am not sure it be any nicer. Our warm temps have kept some of our winter species at bay but there are a
few that seem to like it. Surf anglers looking for that run of Pompano are still waiting for a pattern, Blue fish are there just not the numbers that we have seen in the past. If Blues are the target be there at the coolest part of the day, sun up. If you are watching the sun come up, cut bait will get
the attention you are looking for. If you are catching numbers then you can switch to a spoon, the sent of the cut bait will bring them to your bait and if they are schooled up the spoon with its
flash will get their attention. Pompano, well no pattern to report, with some at Walton Rocks, County Line on south to the inlet it has been a hard call. Pompano have been in and out, some small and large but with no over. These fish are hanging with the Sharks so be fast with you catch. If the temps had been cooler we would be talking about Pompano but the water is still warm, to bad for the Pompano fans but it sure is nice. Plenty of Blues for the early morning anglers, short bite time you need to watch the sun come up and cut bait is favored. Whiting and Croaker for the angler that likes to sleep in or fish after lunch, just a pitch these fish are in that first trough, cast and you be beyond them. Yes there has been a few Pompano but not the numbers the plus side is the rods have been bent all day, come on down , when was the last time you fished the beach? Perfect for the Reds and Trout, mix is a Snook or two and then the Blues and Jacks, busy fishing I would say. Fishing from Round Island
to the Sail Fish Flats have had good reports of slot Reds eating a wide variety. Bite has been early but as the sun rises the Trout move in and it Will keep you busy. Snook openend February first, but all the rest is open, Flounder, Black drum, Blues, Jacks and a few I left out of course several
nice south Florida days in a row sure makes it easy. May be next week the Pompano will show.....................
