Sebastian Inlet Report

02-15-13 FRIDAY: LOTS OF SHEEPSHEAD!

TGIF Anglers!
Yesterday before the rain came, the Sheepshead bite was very good. Most anglers were using sand fleas but a few were having success with shrimp. A couple of Blues and one huge Lookdown came over the rails of the north jetty before noon yesterday. Two Snook were landed in the early morning hours, both keepers, but Black Drum were nowhere to be found. A couple of large schools of Jacks were busted up by Sharks on the north side of the north jetty. Updates from inlet regulars Roger Bullock and "Big Dave" Hartwell confirmed the evening bite has been good for Tarpon and oversized Reds although Sharks have been pretty thick, particularly around the south jetty. Roger reported Reds in the 30-40lb range were being landed on poppers.
Our first photo today is of Michel Fontain of Ashville, N.C. and Vero Beach in the winter. Michel landed this real nice 18" Sheepshead using clams.
